Communications Coordinator
Alex joined the Schmidl Orthodontics Team in mid-2021. She spent the previous 6 years in the medical field and decided to make the transition into orthodontics! She loves to see the confidence and growth each patient experiences differently. In her spare time you’ll find her reading a great book, hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking or spending time with her family and close-knit group of friends. She looks forward to greeting you every day!
Rachelle
Financial Coordinator
Our Financial Coordinator, Rachelle, demonstrates her compassion, humor, and joyful spirit in every interaction she shares with our patients and her coworkers. Having worked in both veterinary medicine and healthcare over the past 7 years, she puts her heart into everything she does — utilizing her attention to detail and creativity to help in any way she can. Rachelle enjoys singing in the car, swimming, photography, hairstyling, and spending time with her husband. When not hard at work, she finds happiness in the company of her animals–riding her horse, training her dogs, and watching a good movie with her cat and her bird.
Sharon
Orthodontic Technician (EFODA)
Sharon has been working at Schmidl Orthodontics since July 2018. She has been interested in the dental field ever since she had braces herself. Sharon really enjoys working in orthodontics, particularly getting to see how happy her patients are to have a beautiful smile once their treatments are complete. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, swimming, eating, dancing, and singing karaoke.

Meet Mari! Since joining the Schmidl team as a Treatment Coordinator, she has continued to further enhance her education and is now one of our clinical all-stars. Not only does she enjoy coastal getaways with her dogs, Kilo and Canella, but she also enjoys spending quality time with friends and family.

Meet Brittany Gatrel, a dedicated professional embarking on an exciting new journey in the field of orthodontics. Originally from the stunning landscapes of Hawaii, Brittany’s dynamic career spans various industries. She brings a wealth of experience from managing a high-end salon with over 50 employees for 18 years, to contributing to the construction of multi-million-dollar custom homes, and excelling in recruiting. Brittany’s remarkable adaptability and unwavering commitment to continual growth set her apart. Her diverse background highlights her versatility and proactive approach to embracing new challenges. Now, as she transitions into orthodontics, Brittany is eager to apply her skills and passion for excellence to this new and rewarding field.
Kelley
Sterilization/Records Technician
Growing up in the Rogue Valley, Kelley enjoys outdoor adventures including rafting, camping, and hiking. She recently moved to a small farm setting in the south Medford area. Her son enjoys feeding the chickens and collecting eggs, petting and feeding the horses, ponies, and goats. Kelley loves supporting local farms and businesses here in the valley. She has always had an interest in dentistry and is thrilled to be part of the Schmidl Orthodontics team.
Sandra
Orthodontic Technician
Sandra was born in Mexico and raised in Oregon. She was granted the opportunity to work in the dental field and fell in love with it. “I love seeing the patient’s smile progress throughout their treatment as well as seeing their confidence build up!” She plans on building up her knowledge of orthodontics and obtaining all her certifications. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, going camping, reading, kayaking, walking both her dogs, Oso and Dante, and traveling to Disneyland.
Alondra
Orthodontic Technician
Alondra recently made the exciting transition into orthodontics. She’s passionate about the hands-on nature of her work and loves seeing the transformation that happens when patients gain confidence through their smiles. Her Spanish fluency is also a valuable chair-side asset. Originally from Southern California, Alondra is enjoying her new life in Oregon — especially the greenery, peaceful lakes, and all the local coffee shops she’s been discovering. When she’s not at the office, you’ll likely find her exploring new food spots, reading a good book, or out for ice cream dates with her husband.
Joe
Chief Honey-Do List Officer
You may not see Dr. Schmidl’s husband in the office every day, but Joe works diligently behind the scenes to make sure the office is running smoothly. He is our jack-of-all-trades who manages everything from marketing and graphic design to IT and maintenance. Outside of work, Joe enjoys pickleball, hilarious Dad jokes, and quality time with family and friends.
