Education
Dr. Schmidl has been in the orthodontic field since 2004. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school, Dr. Schmidl went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Biology from the University of California, Riverside. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where she graduated third in her class. In pursuit of excellence, she chose Loma Linda University for her orthodontic residency, earning a Specialist Certificate & Master’s degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Only six dentists were selected for Dr. Schmidl’s residency program.
Board Certification
Dr Schmidl has earned the highest possible qualification for an orthodontist by becoming a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is continually advancing her knowledge and expertise in the field of orthodontics by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars. She has extensive experience in conventional orthodontics as well as newer methods such as Invisalign, temporary anchorage devices, surgical orthodontics, and jaw correctors such as expanders and Herbst appliances. Dr. Schmidl approaches being an orthodontist the same way she approaches everything in life—with passion and determination, while having lots of fun along the way!

Personal Life
Dr. Schmidl was born in Vietnam and grew up in southern California. She and her husband, Joe, and their 2 kids Quinn and August, are so happy to have relocated to the wonderful Rogue Valley.
Away from the office, Dr. Schmidl enjoys hiking, traveling, playing tennis, watching superhero movies, eating desserts, and playing board games with family and friends.
